From a young age, sisters Leah and Catherine shared a passion for art and design.

Growing up in a large family outside Seattle, they were taught by their parents an appreciation and respect for good art and beautiful spaces. This was reinforced by travel abroad, where they visited historical homes and drafty churches and countless art galleries.

Leah studied art history and got her liberal arts degree before moving to Los Angeles to work with rare books and manuscripts at the Huntington Library and Art Museum. After relocating to Atlanta she spent years designing and curating unique and layered spaces in her home and others.

Catherine pursued her love of fashion in New York City. Her years in the Big Apple she worked for Narcicso Rodriguez, Vera Wang, Tory Burch and Soludos, and along the way she found time to obtain an MBA from NYU. After moving to Atlanta she is anxious to relocate her love of design from fashion to interiors.

Every summer, Leah and Catherine take their families back Northwest to visit their parents in the quiet town of Friday Harbor nestled in the San Juan islands which sit between Washington state and Canada.  The family home, perched above a pebbly beach, allows everyone to step away from their busy reality and reconnect with simple pleasures of life. These slow days are filled with picking blackberries, reading on sunny chaises on the deck, listening to the waves on the beach, and lingering at the large kitchen table over a meal from the Farmers Market.  Friday & Co. Design was founded with these principles in mind—family, simple beauty, and the importance of gathering in beloved spaces with our loved ones around us.
